'Autumn' Postcard

Yes, autumn is here!  Here is my postcard to fit the theme.

Swap card using 'green'.

I love this range of stamps from Artful Impressions.  They always make me smile!

swap card using ribbon and a punch

In this card I have used one of my favourite Hero Arts stamps.  I started out with a piece of white cardstock and mixed some bright coloured paints on my craft mat and swiped the cardstock through the paint to achieve the coloured background.  I used my Prisma pencils to colour in the image and finished the card off with some ric-rac and 3 small flower punchies.

3-D stamping

I really like the effect of this technique.  Stamp your image using white ink.  Let it dry - or if you are impatient like me, use a heatgun to dry.  Now re-ink the stamp using an ink similar in colour to the cardstock you are using.  Stamp again slightly off-centre to the previous image.

Here is my example:

Joy fold card

This is the first time I had made one of these types of cards - but it won't be the last!  This was made for a swap on one of my yahoo groups.

Quilts

My quilt group had an exhibition over the long weekend here.  We had over 100 quilts on show - some new, and others showed their journey from their first quilt made many years ago to their currnet work.  As I am a relative newcomer to quilting - and I must say I really love it! - I was rather hesitant in showing my 2 quilts I have made.  The other members of the group really encouraged me so here they are hanging at the show.  This quilt was my answer to our group challenge for the exhibition - "Circles".

Polished stone atc

I love this background technique!  Each atc is different in the colours and intensity.  Adding a little bit of gold makes the colours really stand out.

This atc was made for a March swap.

ATC using gesso

This atc was for a swap using gesso.  I started off with a page torn out of an old book, then covered it with gesso. I made a flower stencil, sponged it with 2 shades of yellow and orange ink, added a button, flower and the word 'Beauty' and it all seemed to come together.

Another card

I know I have been really slack with keeping my blog up to date but in life, things happen!

Here is a bargello card I made for another swap - I hope you like it.

Wednesday 25 January 2012

Have had trouble with the scanner so have a few cards etc to catch up on.

Here is another January swap - a corner bookmark.  This was quick and easy to make and would make a great gift enclosed in a handmade card.

First swap for the year

I have enjoyed being part of some swaps this week and it was great to be back in the craft room again!

Here is a card I made for my first swap of the year - a "pink" swap.  The image and saying I have used are by Stampin Up!

Friday 6 January 2012

I made this quilt last year for our grandson's christening.  I have also used the same pattern to make a lap quilt for my Mum in England.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog!  My name is Pamela Addicott and I live in Ballarat in Victoria, Australia. I enjoy all sorts of crafts - card making, atcs, art journalling, making books, altered books, scrapbooking, quilting and knitting.  My love of everything crafty has been handed down by my Mum and her family.  Mum always has something on the go - mainly knitting now.

I hope to share with you some of my creations whether that be cards, atcs, quilts etc. I plan on making 2012 my 'crafty' year!  I would like you to share my journey too.
